Making your Community an Enterprising Place

The Chutzpah Factory works with community organisations and local government.

The following elements are central to all of our programs. They can inject new direction and excitement into existing social enterprises, ideas incubators or business development projects in communities.

The Chutzpah Factory can energise local enterprise through...

Mentoring and Networking: Connecting people with people. This happens through the existing Chutzpah Factory networks of entrepreneurs and businesses. We also encourage you to check out the full range of business supports, networks and activities offered in your community who you may not have accessed before.

Resources: Passing on tools and experience at a personal level. Bringing in business owners, community leaders and entrepreneurs to share their experiences. A range of service providers will visit and attend training to offer advice on business elements such as accounting, financial planning and support, 

Education and information: Sharing what we’re learning and checking out the experts. A regular online forum to showcase influential business texts and DVD’s and to listen to guest speakers.

Skills Building and Inspiration - A series of well publicised, highly accessible interactive workshops throughout the two year period based on course outlines listed below.

There will be three focal points for these training programs.

  • One is identifying each person’s passion: Design Your Life.
  • Two is linking passion with a life purpose: Love Your Work.
  • Three is getting the business basics in place: Energise Your Enterprise.

Across all of these we provide a highly professional level of training.

The following workshops are relevant to a variety of groups and cater for a flexible level of commitment from attendees, fitting in around lifestyles. We can also design workshops specific to a group or need in your community.

The current Chutzpah Factory courses are:

Each program consists of 6 days scheduled over a 12 week-month period.

Flexibility of delivery is important. We want to respond to a range of groups in the community. People who are facing redundancy, young people looking to build their future, parents returning to work after bringing their children up, people reassessing their lives and values, older people keen to continue a working life.

We envisage a series of weekend sessions as well as weekdays depending on the group we are aiming at.

All of the training delivery is through interactive and experiential workshops as well as practical steps to take by themselves. This is the only way learners in this kind of context will take away a truly lasting lesson and memorable information.

Design Your Life

Design Your Life provides a comprehensive workbook for every participant and is useful for couples as well as individuals to help identify life purpose and to form achievable goals.

This program is divided into four parts, actually presented as four primary questions:

  • Where Have You Been?
  • Where Are You Now?
  • Where Do You Want to Go?
  • How Do You Plan to Get There?

The process is enjoyable, revealing and extremely engaging. The focus is self-knowledge and life satisfaction which is essential for really identifying career paths that align vocation with personal values.

Love Your Work

This program offers flexible modules that can be presented in a range of ways to respond to group needs and individual goals.

All of the information used in this course is based on the Chutzpah Factory Certificate II in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Skills which has successfully connected hundreds of young people to their passion and purpose.

Passion -... Create, Innovate, Communicate - what really matters to you? Making Passion Infectious....  How To Inspire Influence and Involve, creating great ideas out of what you love, making those ideas happen by applying sound business planning principles

Purpose -...... Processes, Products, Proof....... Plans and goals to get where you want to go (and know when you have arrived!), Strengths, Vision and Values aligning and realigning, assessing success in your business (what's fantastic, what's fine, and what needs fine tuning), Quick Wins and celebrating achievements.

Identifying your target market, Bootstrap Promotions, The six P’s of marketing

Workshop three: Financial success in business

Presenting your pitch to get financial backing and buy in.

Profit and loss, Cash flow, Pricing for your product, Tax, GST

Workshop four: Business planning

Writing a business plan, marketing plan and personal plan to achieve SMART goals

Workshop five: Interpersonal business skills

Effective communication in business through polished presentation and writing skills

Time management, focus, prioritising and scheduling

Workshop Six: Reflect, Wrap up and Celebrate

A group reflection on achievements and a showcase of business ideas

These programs weave important aspects of business planning and administration through each of these components but in a way that directly applies these principles to practice.

Any Chutzpah Factory program can respond to participants where they are, rather than offering a structured course. Our approach is inclusive and highly relevant to each person’s life experience.
